This year we are proud to begin teaching and learning Common Core aligned Everday Math!
Here is an example of why I believe that our new curriculum will give students a strong foundation in number sense. Previously, students were taught to simply memorize algorithms, but much like Ma and Pa Kettle, it's easy to mix those up. Everyday Math enables students to have fluency and number sense!

Khan Academy-features a library of over 2,700 instructional videos and 240 practice exercises covering a variety of subjects, including many elementary mathematics topics. Xtra Math is a free web-based program that helps students master basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts. Students learn to recall them quickly and accurately and can then use these math facts as a basis on which to build more complex problem-solving skills. More from Everday Math. |
